5 ways a POS system will improve daily sales

If your a timeshare or activity operator, you know the problem. Hand written vouchers is time consuming, cumbersome and tracking anything more than a couple locations is a nightmare.

Marketing is wanting to grow and expand, but accounting is overwhelmed with paperwork coming back that simply is not adding up.

Here are just a few of the reasons that its time to take a hard look to investing into a Point of Sale (POS)

5) Track Inventory-Even in the age of vouchers and integrations to theme parks, there will always be a need to track inventory. A POS is designed to not only track inventory but report all inventory levels back to a central head office.

4) Prevent order errors-If you are manually adding up orders or calculating stock takes, you are leaving yourself open to human error. Sure, an error here or there isn't going to break the bank but as little as 1% margin of error could lose you thousands over a year (for example, if you are taking on average $1569.60 U.S a day, 6 days a week, there’s 52 weeks in a year then if you have just a 1% error you are losing out on, or not accounting for $4897.15 a year!). Whereas, whilst a POS system might cost you a bit each month, it will help your bottom line figures and you’ll more than likely see a return within months.

3) Optimize Your Checkout Process-Significantly speed up your checkout process with bar code scanning. Your customers will be much more satisfied if they don’t have to wait about queuing (wait in line) in order to make a purchase, and you will be able to serve many more customers each day. Plus, you will be able to record more data at your checkout that could be used to incentivize loyalty in your clientele and help you better market to them.

2) Better use of your personnel -Little is more maddening to a business owner than watching his or her staff bogged down with inefficient, unproductive responsibilities, from double-checking inventory disparities to seemingly endless manual reconciliation. Perhaps the greatest advantage to a comprehensive point-of-sale network is the freedom it can afford your personnel to devote their energy to what genuinely matters the most: helping customers.A good POS allows you to allocate your human resources to the customer service area of the business. That means they no longer have to be counting, calculating, ordering, and manually checking  accuracy.

1) You get many tools in a single package. Buying business equipment piecemeal can be pricey. If you find your checkbook wearing thin from the expense of software and other gear, a comprehensive point-of-sale system may include them in a single package. Most POS systems have add-on modules like payroll time clocks and centralized Head Office Reporting. A select few may even offer integrations. That removes the need for the businesses to invest in separate systems.

If you’re still running your timeshare with a pen and paper, calculator, simple database software or simple spreadsheet software, it might be time to consider a proper point of sale system. When making your choice of POS, remember to think about the long-term and opt for a system that will let you scale and grow. Look for one that know's your industry and specific needs such as Gifting, Pre-Gifting, OPC's and more.
